Menstrual cramps home remedy


 




Since young we were taught how to use home remedy method to ease menstrual cramps. 












A natural, easy and no side effect way of using ginger, red dates and black brown sugar tea is reputed to have some value in treating menstrual cramps, herbal or nutritional herbs during acute menstrual cramps or pain, this alternative natural healing drinks provide effective pain relief, as ginger is great pain killer and it help in blood circulation, for abdominal bloating it helps to expel wind too.



Ginger and red dates increases blood circulation as the Yang energy, which can relieve blood clots in the uterus, as well as benefit woman after her child birth. This Ginger red dates drink may be safe and effective for nausea and vomiting of pregnancy when used at recommended doses for short periods of time.












Brown sugar
is either an unrefined or partially refined which contains lots of nutrients and minerals.







The effect on menstrual cramps would be psychological rather than physiological. Researchers have found that sugar increases the amount of certain brain neurotransmitters that control moods. It tranquilize the nervous system and thus to relieve pain Heat pad is also one good way of relief the cramps and pains, just placing the heat pad to the stomach where it hurts for 10 to 15 minutes, till you feel the pain is gone.



Method of cooking this home remedy drinks is very simple.

Ingredients:



  • 6 slices of ginger with skin
  • 10 red dates (cut into small pieces)
  • 1-2 tbs. black brown sugar
  • 3 glasses of water

1. Bring water to boil. Put some ginger slices without peeling off the skin and cook in boiling water.


2. Add some red dates into it and then boil it with low heat for 20 minutes.\


3. Add brown sugar till dissolve, Simmer for about half an hour in pot, strain the tea to a mug and then drink it.



That really works when you have cramps. Which is also widely used by Chinese women as one of the home remedy for women after birth before or during menstruation period, woman’s body is often depleted of these important nutrients during menstruation, cramps are caused by the contraction of the uterus during menstruation. 


I often encourage women with more severe menstrual pain should try to start doing so a few days before her menstrual period until it ends, or even avoid cold food and drink as much as possible. So far I found it is quite effective for me.

My Recycle Enzyme recipe

What I do for my enzyme residue to recycle it into jam, refreshment juice and pickle mixture.

The making of refreshing juice for sore throat, just added plum into it, stire well. Serve cold or hot refreshment juice.




























Use the recycle Grape enzyme residue. Mix to make Lo Bak Pickle with Parsley, tarragon and sesame seed. Fermented it with some light soy sauce, honey and blended grape enzyme jam for 1-2 day. It really taste good and good appetizer too.

Kiwi Aloe Vera Mixed Enzymes

This Aloe Kiwi Enzyme is my natural skin rejuvenation drink, it's a good combination natural remedy containing aloe was found to be an effective laxative. I called this "magic fluid" it helps internally to combat most digestive problems, which is including:

constipation, poor appetite, colitis, irritable bowel syndrome as well as asthma, diabetes, immune system enhancement, peptic ulcers and anti ageing juice.



Ingredients:

  • A clean Glass Jar
  • 6 Fresh Aloe Vera
  • 6 kiwi
  • 2 lemons (you can add more lemons for better taste)
  • 1/2 pkt of brown block sugar
  • Honey (approximate 16 oz to cover the fruit slices in the container)



ALOE VERA - it has been proved to be a natural healer, rich extract containing the enzyme catalase cellulose, minerals calcium, aluminum, iron, zinc, magnesium, and the “youth mineral” potassium, known for its healing and anti-inflammatory properties.


It helps with constipation, diarrhea, and it’s also good for any type of gastrointestinal disorder. The great benefit of the aloe vera enzyme is that it helps to lose weight.




Preparation of Aloe Vera:


Wash the leaf and careful cut it into several pieces. Peel off the green skin of the leaf and cut it into small pieces. Keep it in a container to let the cut up pieces soak in water for at least one day in fridge.


Why doing that?
The yellow bitter latex from the inner lining of the leaf can be laxative. Be careful with this one, the yellow impurities that must be eliminated. By the next day you will notice the color of the water changed to red or pink color. Throw out the colored water and once again soak the aloe vera plant in water to make sure you have eliminated all of the impurities. Remove the water and drain dry and ready for use.

The Kiwi Fruit - rich source nutrients of vitamin A,C and E, proteins and fiber, as much potassium as bananas, also a good amount of beta-carotene it's good source of flavonoid antioxidants. Helps prevent colon cancer thanks to its high fiber content

With its high amount of dietary fiber, and has mild laxative properties.



Kiwi contains the protein-dissolving enzyme actinides. Kiwis have a tart taste, but I like it!












Kiwi Slices is ready to use.

Cut Brown block sugar into small pieces












Divided the Aloe vera, kiwi and lemon slices, brown block sugar pieces into 3 parts, if you have 3 types of fruits, layer the 3 layer of fruits. I put first layer with Aloe Vera. Follow the other fruits followed by a layer of sugar and Lemon slices. Place it slowly in layer from Aloe Vera; lemon slices, kiwi and brown block sugar in layer by layer then pour in honey to cover the fruits.
The final layer should end with sugar at the top. Close the lid tight. Place a piece of cling wrap plastic over it before you close the lid.

Done...and keep in cool place for fermentation period of 3 weeks.
After 2 days of fermentation period, I can see the bubble is forming on top, the forming meaning the fermentation process has already started. At the bottom of the bottle you can see some juice dissolved combined well.

After the 3rd day you can shake the bottle gently, and do this every day.
Keep it fermented for 3 weeks. Then filter it into a clean glass bottle for storage.

The whole fermentation process taking place and store in bottle ready for consume.













Keep in the fridge.


When to take it?
It can be before or after food, it you have a weaker stomach, do it after your meal.



Preparation and Ingredients for Pure Aloe Vera Honey Enzyme


  • 4 Fresh Aloe Vera
  • 2 Lemons
  • 1/2 pkt Brown block sugar
  • 16 oz of Raw Honey (I used more honey to prevent from fungus formation.)

I roughly figure out how to prevent black fungus those black dot during fermentation of Aloe Vera, as Aloe vera is moist content ingredient can be easily having those mold and fungus growth.


Note: If observe for any mold or black fungus growth I just remove the affected fruits immediately, and add more honey and brown block sugar can help to preserve it. With the method, ingredients, control conditions, and here I go ready for the preparation.

Place all the Aloe Vera, lemon slices, brown block sugar by layer arrangement carefully. Lastly pout the honey just to cover the top of all ingredients. That's it....Done and waiting. Observe, shaking the bottle after 3 days, and everyday after......at last ....Ready to be consumed.

Healthy Drinks? Fungus? It's Kombucha!



I love vinegar. Especially fruit fermented vinegar of Mulberry.

I found myself drinking weird stuff just to get healthy. I also got more interested in healthy food in general.


But the truth is I am one very health conscious person just because I was unhealthy previously. Now I need to boost my immunity system by ways of taking organic Vinegars from A to Z types.

Someone gave me a weird stuff like this….a type of Red Tea enzymes or fungus. I think I seen this before when I was young girl that my mom is doing this YUKKY stuff all the times. So as I went through researched and get more info about it. Quite interesting and I begin to make my own Kombucha.


What is "Hai Bao" or Kombucha


This is so called the “Hai Bao” or “Sea Treasure” in Taiwan, “Hong Cha Ku” in chinese, “Black Tea Mushroom” . In English it is called “Kombucha”.


This fungus culture starter is given by a friend of mine. He taught me how to made with the culture start and fermented by multiplying it. And he claimed it is good for my cough and irritating throat. So I just try it ....














This is what I got after 15 days of fermentation process in the bottle.








During fermentation period cover with a loosely-woven cotton fabric, is to help allow air to get in through the weave also keeping out of insects.

I learned how to duplicate more with the culture starter piece that floating on top of the jar.
This is how the duplicated kombucha culture starter looks like......Like jelly huh?



Before I take this healthy drink I feel afraid, and so yukky to see the floating agent inside the bottle.Now I am so used to it.



How it tastes? Hmmm…it tasted like prune juice or cider vinegar taste of sweet and sour.

Well, I did tried and its taste not too bad. Just like taking fruit vinegar.














At first I am not sure where it comes. What is that actually and I surfed through internet before taking it. So I surfed through internet found out there are 3 types of healthy enzymes like yogurt culture, Kefir and this one of them is “Kombucha”.

The tea fungus puts in the healthy drink which ferments in the same place, it is said most gets up early the source from country of Eastern Qin Dynasty time.


What is Kombucha made from?

Kombucha is a fermented beverage prepared from a mushroom (Fungus japonicas). It is fermented by tea, sugar and black tea culture or starter whatsoever.


When the fungus is fermented in a mixture containing water, black or green tea, sugar, and vinegar (or other fermentation source), the microorganisms combine into a complex fermenting culture.


One kind of complex tea which ferments with the bacterium and the saccharomycetes (kombucha, also said that Red tea mushroom).


This tea fungus is one kind of saccharomycetes and the bacterium (contains acetic acid bacteria and lactobacillus) Paragenesis organism, is native to area the Northeast China, as well as used in Russia, in 1971 a Japanese saw in Caucasus many longevity's old people drank this kind of drink, therefore brought it back to Japan to raise becomes famous.


Although this kind of drink said that was one kind of healthy drink, but the clinical research had not demonstrated that it had promotion its health valve, once some people drank it and had acidosis, symptoms of liver poison, including dead, therefore it is best to consult your doctor before taking this “Black tea mushroom”, that was only then good for your health concerned.


Since my friend claimed it is good for health. Because it's such a wonderful "natural healing" stuff, Oh...once I heard it is natural healing..hmmm, must be good stuff as I treasure it so much.


It is said to work wonders for the black tea fungus is one kind the family who spreads from the Dynasty pre-Qin period, the benefits is as it stimulates and detoxification. Also as general health tonic drink.


In year 1925-1950 it carries on the medical research indicated that this Red tea fungus has the antibacterial function, adjusts the stomach, the intestines and gland's function, can alleviate the rheum arthritis, arthritis and hemorrhoids' symptom, also lower the cholesterol, atherosclerosis, the poison excretion, diabetes and has the improvement function sensibly.

It is taken to strengthen the immune system after an illness, stimulate hair growth, improve arthritis and skin conditions, and as a health tonic for cancer and autoimmune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) patients. There is no large body of scientific evidence that supports the strong claims yet to discovery which carries on 1951, every day drinks the Red tea fungus is good to enhance the immunity and the promotion interferon production.


However how good or bad for health it depends on the further research to discover more.



The preparation and how fermentation process

The fermentation of kombucha tea takes 12–14 days. After fermentation, new batches can be easily made from the existing culture.

According to him, he said this is very good for cough and sore throat. For the sake of irritating throat, I took that in the morning or after my meal…hey…it works!!

And I feel good as I taking it every morning like taking fruit vinegar. Vinegar is always just an ingredient for my tonsillitis, and nothing more, nothing less. Just for prevention purposes.

I don’t care how yukky about the taste. What I tasted I blog for the purpose of sharing with others.








Senz's pickles - Lo Bak


I discovered this dish by one of my Korea friend. I realized I seldom meet fat person in Korea. Maybe the pickles stuffs that makes them slimmer?

The most pleasant thing for me to observe is they eat white carrot (Turnip) and seaweed every meal. I can see this dish in their every meal. That kept the Korean trim and slim.

So I did my own concoction. In every meal I must add this dish even traveling. They love it very much. It is not difficult to do.





Method

1. Skin off the white carrot skin and cut it in small cube.

2. In a big bowl, add Vinegar, Sugar, salt and light sauce.
3. Marinate the carrot and added celery pieces with the sauces till well blended.

4. Marinate for 2 hours minimum before serving.
5. Serve cold

It is refreshing dish and good appetizer. Try it today!

Senz's Seaweed Pickle


Seaweed is a green marine plant and its natural therapeutic properties are high nutritional content. Being a rich source of iodine, iron and Vit.B1,B2 and other important nutrients.

It helps in the optimum functioning of your thyroid gland along with aiding in blood formation. Aid in decreasing cholesterol, stabilizing blood sugar and also help in keeping your digestive system in good health. Improves black, shiny and healthy hair by its consumption.


This helps in keeping your skin glows and radiant. Also have a beneficial role as they help detoxify the body, improve circulation and keep your body slim, hair and skin in healthy condition. You are kept disease free and health especially good for women.
Seaweed Pickle preparations:




Ingredients A:


Dried Seeweed - 10 g

Green onion cut into small pieces

Parsley cut into small pieces











Ingredient B For Seasoning:
Apple cider Vinegar with honey - 1/2 cup

Liquid Aminos or light soy sauce - 2 tablespoons

Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon, also can add sesame seeds to it.

Salt - 1/2 teaspoon.

sugar - 1 teaspoon (optional)

The preparation:

1. Soak dried seaweed in cold water (approx. 5 - 10 mins) warm water (approx. 3-5 mins).
(I prefer to soak in cold water as it's much crispy and tender.)

2. After soaking for 5 - 10 mins, drains dry the seaweed and ready to use.

3. Mixed Ingredients A and B together and mixed well.

4. Keep it fermented for 1/2 an hour or more, ready to serve.

That's all and it is simple and nutritious for your light diet.














Roasted Black Bean Tea


Losing weight has been a pain in you, when trying to lose weight perhaps you might even change your entire lifestyle to promote healthy eating, physical activity.
This is not a joke. Simple way for losing your weight with Black Bean Teas, recent research also shows that Black Beans are rich in antioxidants as well. 3. Or bake in Oven Preheat oven to 200 degrees. Heat shells for 10 minutes.

















How to make Black Beans Tea:

To make Black Beans Tea, take about 2 tablespoon full of bake Black Beans and add hot boiling water into it and simmer for 10 minutes. I prefer to use coffee maker as it heated and simmer the nice aroma of it. That’s it my healthy Black Beans Tea of the day.

For improving your eye sight, you can add so Goji to it. It tastes wonderful.

For weight lost, Black soy beans are low-carb, high protein; you can eat them the same way you'd eat peanuts as you wish. Besides helping you maintain a healthy weight: they help lower your blood pressure and are a great way to help prevent the onset of diabetes. It helps improve blood circulation, constipation problem, better sleep, beautiful and whitening skin texture. Good source of anti-oxidant for anti ageing and also get rid of water retention.

It is so simple and healthy way for good health. You can drink as much as you can up to 3 glasses per day.

Kongjaban - Sweet and Salty Black Bean

Homes made of eco-friendly materials have become quite popular other than making fruit enzymes and vinegar. What I love most, this Side dish (Bancha) is my favorite in my recipes. Like radish, seaweed, cabbage and black bean. I enjoy the preparation of making such stuffs for leisure passing time apart for the concept of “well-being” (healthy living).







I like the Korean peoples’ appreciation for healthy living and eating, I found Korean recipes are very healthy, less deep fried and less oily. Most of their recipes are pickles stuffs like kimchi. There are endless varieties, and it is served as a side dish or cooked into soups and rice dishes.

This one Korean recipe - black bean sweet and nutty side dish, What I know this Korean dish is called “ Kongjaban” in Korean restaurant. Usually I would try to make more as I don’t really take junk foods, so these seasoned black beans are a protein-filled will eventually as my snack or appetizer for me.


Black bean is a very good source of cholesterol-lowering fiber, black beans' high fiber content prevents blood sugar levels from rising too rapidly after a meal, Black Beans Give You Energy to Burn While Stabilizing Blood Sugar. In addition, they are a very good source of dietary fiber and folate.

When researchers analyzed different types of beans, they found that, the darker the bean's seed coat, the higher its level of antioxidant activity with its Manganese for energy production and Antioxidant Defense. Also promote optimal health and protein power plus. Antioxidants destroy free radicals, and when eaten regularly, have been shown to offer protection against heart disease, cancer and aging. It is believed that the proteins within the bean help the body better synthesize incoming calories and boost the metabolism.





Ingredients:

· 1 cup black soy beans, washed
· 1 cup water
· 1/2 cup soy sauce (I like Bragg Liquid Aminos)
· 1/2 cup sugar
· 1 Tbsp sesame oil
· 1 tsp sesame seeds

Note: To shorten cooking time and make it easier to digest, black beans should be presoaked

Why presoaking?
Presoaking has been found to reduce the raffinose-type ligosaccharides, sugars associated with causing flatulence.) There are two basic methods for presoaking.

1. Placing the beans in a saucepan and adding two to three cups of water per cup of beans. Bring to boil the beans for two minutes, take the pan off the heat, cover and allow to stand for two hours.

2. Another method is to simply soak the beans in water for few hours or overnight, placing the pan in the refrigerator so that the beans will not ferment. Before cooking the beans, regardless of method, drain the soaking liquid and rinse the beans with clean water.

Preparation:

1. Soak black beans in water for 2 hours, remove water, use water and bring to boil and cook for 15 minutes.

2. After cooking for 15 minutes. Use medium-low heat and add soy sauce, sugar, and sesame oil. Stir to combine and continue to cook for 10-15 minutes.

3. Remove pot from heat and stir in sesame seeds. Serves 4

keep in fridge whenever I need snack, it really taste nice and healthy snack.

Garbage Enzyme DIY

The said making of garbage enzyme would help to reduce the global warming. I learn to make garbage enzyme partly to recycle the kitchen wastes, turn kitchen waster to DIY natural household cleaners. It is natural household cleaner; air purifier; deodorizer; insecticide; detergent; body care; car care; organic fertilizer, believe it or not, it is multipurpose...It is also help to reduce pollution - methane gas released from disposed garbage can trap 21 times more heat than CO2, worsen the global warming condition.So do a bit and help reduce global warming for a cooler and healthier living environment for all of us!

The Garbage enzyme benefits environment, agriculture and even in homes.

In agriculture:
garbage enzyme is used to reduce the chemical fertilizers, soil fertilizer for plants, helps to clean the dirty and impure water in the farm.


In home:
garbage enzyme is used as household cleaning detergent, help to get rid of insects, mopping floor and multi-purpose cleanser for toilet as well as removes foul odors. It help and prevent drainpipe blockage, release residues accumulated in the pipe of basins or toilet bowls.

How good is it I do not know, but I did tried to use the garbage enzyme added with dishwash detergent and floor cleaner for cleaning dishes and floor. It really works well and make my work load lessen with this super enzyme liquid.

DIY Garbage Enzyme ingredients:







3 ratio of waste fruits/vegetables










1 ratio of black sugar






10 ratio of water








Mixed well all ingredients and place them in the air-tight plastic container/bottle. Remember to open and Stir/Shake the enzyme residue everyday for the first month. 2 to 3 times a week, for the 2nd and 3rd month.


Fermentation Period: 3 months in air-tight plastic container.

Filter and removal of the residue after 3 months, then after filtration and removal of the residue, garbage enzyme is obtained.




Do not throw away the residue as it can be used again for a new batch of production by adding fresh garbage. It can be used as fertilizer too. Dried the residue, then blended and buried in the ground as a fertilizer.


When the enzyme is diluted with water, it becomes more effective. For dish-washing liquids or floor detergents: add 1 teaspoon of enzymes for 500cc, 1 tablespoon of enzymes for 1 litre to enhance the nutrients and reduce the side effects of the chemicals in the detergents.






When Enzyme is diluted with water, it becomes more effective:

1) Enzyme for fertilizer = enzyme 1cc: water 100cc
2) Enzyme for insecticide = enzyme 1cc: water 1000cc
3) Enzyme for pesticide = enzyme 1cc: water 100cc
4) Anti odour/air freshener = enzyme 1cc: water 200cc
5) Plant hormones to get more flowers & fruits = enzyme 1cc: water 500cc
6) Shampoos, dish-washing liquids, detergents
= enzyme 1cc: water 10 times
= enzyme 1 teaspoon add in 1 liter detergent
(enhance nutrients & reduce chemical side effect of the detergents)

Black Soybean Porridge ~ Strengthen Kidney Yin Deficiency


Another ancient secret recipe of my granny’s alternative healing ~ food therapy by using of black soybean, red dates, rice and ginger.  

This help to relieve tinnitus or kidney Qi deficiency problem. This wholesome food is a very simple way in preparation to daily diet. And yet it is a delicious porridge and soup. It can be taken as sweet dessert soup by adding rock sugar or as salty porridge by adding soy sauce.







Home Remedy for treating ear fluid imbalanced especially "kidney Yin deficiency" problem.

Ingredients:
  • 3 oz of black beans,
  • 3 oz of rice,
  • 4 slices of Ginger (peel)
  • 10 Red Dates (Optional)
  • 8 bowls of water
Note/Optional:
If you wish to make it as soup, add extra water to 10 bowls of water. Just drink the water only.




Preparation:

Wash and Soak black beans overnight first, lets them germinate slightly, this shorten the cooking time, easy for digestion, also reduce their acidity and phytic acid of the bean.


Method: 


1. Wash Black soybean and rice then drain dry ready for use.

2. Fried black soybean and rice separately (without oil or water) for about 5 minutes.






























 


3. Add in black soybeans, rice, red dates and ginger slices to boiling water.










 


4. Reduce the flame to low heat, and boil on simmering fire till water quantity reduced to 1 bowl.

5. Remove from heat, drink the water only. (For Ear problem)


6. For strengthen Kidney, cook for 40 minutes, then eat the porridge, red dates and black soybean.

(Can also add rock sugar to serve as sweet dessert soup, or add salt or soy sauce as porridge).



* Spice of the ginger is important to this recipe, it is an effective herbal remedy for treating dizziness, or vertigo is present. Taking this soup or porridge by regular basic will help in improving the ear problems and kidney Yin deficiency.


 
This gentle and natural home remedy is quite good for Kidney “Yin deficiency” as kidney strengthening foods help to invigorate by tonifies the deficient Yin of kidney function.


In alternative home remedies, we can either get it from food or other activities.

 



Black soybean is good source of “Yin” nourishing foods for kidney. Black is for “water” and “Kidney” is lies in the element of "water" too.

This simple recipe which help in support and normalize the body, kidney energy and help to reduce of toxic heat, controls and enhances of “water metabolism” in preventing of water retention, this is what involves the proper diet and nourishment of the ears, for which is what affected by the kidney system in meridian cycle and functioning.


As weaken in kidney energy can causes poor hearing or other sickness conditions, e.g ringing in the ears (tinnitus), also frequently fear of cold like frigophobia. That’s the syndrome of hyperactivity of fire due to yin deficiency and phlegm stasis.

Symptoms and signs of Kidney Yin Deficiency to ear problems:  

Dizziness, feeling fullness and ringing in the ear, migraine or slowly hearing loss is the sign of tinnitus (ringing in the ear).

Tinnitus and meniere's disease (imbalance of ear fluid) is an influence hearing and balanced internal ear disease. Which is one kind of internal ear pathological change causes, and initiation endolymph (the fluid contained inside the membranous labyrinth of the inner ear), back-flow is blocked or the absorbing barrier. Some of the causes is unknown, some factors cause maybe due to family history, ear infection and head injury as this needs the modern science medical diagnosis in further treatments.

In meridian channel the kidney is the most important reservoir of essential energy and storing the “Jing” or essence. The Kidney is the root of "Fire" and "water".

Kidney Yang
is to ensure the fire of each organ is not drowned out, it goes to the lungs and supervises the discharge of excess water by the bladder. They meridian channel for kidney functioning is referred as "open into the inner ear".

several times in a day in active period. It influences our body Qi energy functioning is form or collapse.

These imbalances of kidney system in functioning “Yin and Yang” deficiency may cause several signs and symptoms like night sweat, cold limbs, edema, water retention, weaken and pain of back and knee, insomnia, poor libido, fertility problem, poor appetite, constipation, chronic fatigue as well as ear problems e.g Meniere’s syndrome, vertigo and tinnitus.

Tips:

Stimulation by gently massage the ear auricle with pressure point to reflex zones, or lightly closing the ear with light pressure also helping in conserves the kidney Qi energy and stimulates the ears. The warmth stimulates and circulation reinforces the flow of lymph, increase the flow smoothly.
